These major car rental companies offer AAA members convenient airport locations, vehicle upgrades, membership discounts, exclusive deals, free cancellation options, drop-off locations in major cities, and a wide selection of rental cars.
Can I reserve a child seat when I rent a car?
Based on availability, AAA members have the option to reserve a free child seat with their rental car. While most car rental agencies will charge a premium for a child seat, AAA members get free use of a child safety seat when renting a car through Hertz, Dollar, and Thrifty. This offer, easy pick-up and drop-off options, along with other exclusive rental car deals are just some of the benefits available to members.
Does AAA track prices of the cheapest car rental deals?
AAA tracks car rental prices to help members pick the best car rental deal for their trip. We also track any additional daily fees or extra add-on fees to ensure members get the cheapest car rental deals. While price is important, choosing a cheap car rental shouldn’t be the only thing you take into consideration. AAA has car rental deals that benefit our members and are available in most airports with convenient pick-up and drop-off locations.
When I rent a car through AAA, can I pick it up at the airport or do I have to go to the car rental agency in the city?
Most car rental companies have offices at the airport, so you can conveniently pick up your rental car as soon as you reach your destination city. AAA provides you with numerous pick-up options: you can pick up your car rental at the agency counter at the airport, or skip the counter altogether and go directly to your rental car at the airport.
Is AAA the cheapest way to rent cars?
AAA presents accurate and up-to-date pricing for our car rental company partners, so you can decide what makes sense for your trip and your budget. Pricing will depend on a variety of things like whether you’re renting a car for yourself only or if you need to add an additional driver.
Can I use a debit card to pay for my rental car?
Usually, you’ll have to use a credit card in order to rent a car. Some rental car companies may offer a debit card option depending on your renting history. If you qualify to use a debit card, the company will also require a deposit to cover any additional expenses.
What is the charging requirement when renting an Electric Vehicle (EV) from Hertz?
Flexible charging options.
EV Purchase Option (EVPO) - Pay for the amount of charge in the EV battery at time of pickup, at a rate similar to local charging stations, plus a small fee.
You recharge - Return the EV at any battery level. No refunds for the charge left in the battery at time of return. Pay no additional cost if you return the EV at the same battery level it had at pickup — but you never have to bring it back over 75%.
EV Service Charge (EVSC) - If you do not select EVPO and do not recharge the vehicle yourself, Hertz will charge you for the difference in battery level at pickup and return. Same kWh rate as EVPO but with a higher fee.

TAXES AND CONCESSION FEES, WHERE APPLICABLE, ARE EXTRA. Please be aware that refunds are not issued for unused fuel.
